On May 3, 2025, CAMASEJ Douala convened a workshop to commemorate World Press Freedom Day, focusing on the theme: “Reporting in the Brave New World: The Impact of Artificial Intelligence on Press Freedom and the Media.”
The event featured three expert-led sessions:
- Jacque Eone – An AI and robotics specialist, provided insights into AI’s role in modern journalism.
- Charles Fongang – A journalism trainer, discussed the ethical considerations of AI in media.
- Clarence Yongo – A journalist, addressed challenges related to misinformation and media regulation in the AI era.
These sessions equipped over 30 journalists with knowledge to navigate the evolving media landscape.
This year’s commemoration was proudly powered by CCA Bank, demonstrating their commitment to supporting press freedom and innovation in journalism.
