SPEECH BY NZAIH BWEH PARH CHAPTER PRESIDENT CAMASEJ KUMBA ON THE OCCASION OF WORLD RADIO DAY CELEBRATION.

Ladies and gentlemen of the media, dear listeners, radio presenters.

Today, we gather to celebrate the World Radio Day 2025, a day dedicated to recognizing the vital role a radio plays in our lives and communities. This year’s theme, “Radio and Climate Change,” highlights the incredible potential of radio as a powerful tool for raising awareness and driving action on one of the most pressing issues of our time.

As we gather here in Kumba, we are reminded of the unique challenges our environment faces. Climate change affects us all, from shifting weather patterns to the impacts on agriculture and water supply. It is essential that we, as a community, understand these challenges and work together to address them.

Radio has always been a bridge to information, a source of education, and a platform for dialogue. It allows us to share knowledge about climate change, promote sustainable practices, and encourage community engagement. Through our local radio stations, we can inform thousands of listeners about the effects of climate change and empower them to take action.

Today, let us celebrate the journalists and radio personalities who dedicate their time to this course. Their commitments to educating the public is crucial in fostering a more informed society. I encourage all of you to support your local radio stations, participate in discussions, and share your own experiences related to climate change.

As we move forward, let us harness the power of radio to inspire change and promote sustainable practices in our community. Together, we can create a more resilient Kumba that not only addresses climate change but thrives in the face of it.

Thank you for being here today, and let us continue to champion the cause of radio and the environment.
