Buea CAMASEJ: Andrew Nsoseka wins presidency, promises harmonious leadership.

The election took place on Saturday June 1 in Buea.The new Buea chapter boss campaigned with a manifesto of promising to restore the good image of journalists and journalism.

Nsoseka vowed to make CAMASEJ Buea attractive and scout for productive partnerships.

Besides Andrew Nsoseka as president other members of the new executive include: Joyce Mbong as Vice President; Shing Timothy as Secretary General; Nda Hope as Vice Secretary General; Emmanuela Siy as Financial Secretary; Ngunyi Sonita as Vice Financial Secretary; Nkengafac Eucharia as Treasurer; Antionette Buinda as Public Relations Officer and Albert Njie Mbonde as Adviser.

The team, according to the president, is diverse with young and not so young members that is gender balanced. The goal, he said, is to ensure everyone has a voice in the running of the association.

The chapter president described his team as being made up of committed members who will move CAMASEJ forward.

He told reporters that: “Our vision is to continue to grow the chapter, make it more active and bring in more members and make them ambassadors of all journalists wherever they go”.

Nsoseka also indicated that his team wants “to build ourselves to regain the public’s trust and believe in journalists and journalism because we came here not to take crowns but to take responsibility alongside every member”.

On her part, Esther Qui, who oversaw the elections process, saluted the maturity of all candidates. Qui urged the national executive of CAMASEJ to work with the new team in Buea.

The Vice National Secretary of CAMASEJ, Peter Kum, who lived the voting also congratulated those who took part in the exercise for contributing to the peaceful nature of the poll. He said the real winner of the election is entire CAMASEJ Buea chapter.

He called on members to work with the new leadership to ensure the association moves in the right direction.

Nsoseka won the elections on a mandate to grow the chapter in terms of numbers and active participation in the activities of the association in Buea. The new team takes over from the Abah Isidore-led team.
