Members of the Cameroon English Speaking Journalists, CAMASEJ Bamenda chapter recently spearheaded a sensitization campaign in preparation for the World Press Freedom Day on May 3rd.
The initiative, marked by the donation of waste buckets and disposable plastics, aimed to promote environmental awareness and responsible waste management in the city of Bamenda.
Led by the Chapter President, Sah Terence, the gesture was warmly received by vendors at the Bamenda Main Market and along the Commercial Avenue street, who appreciated the association’s efforts to keep the environment clean.
According to Sah Terence, President of CAMASEJ Bamenda, “As journalists and media persons, everything in our communities concerns us. We recognize the serious waste management problem in our community, and we believe it’s essential to lead by example and show them how it’s done, rather than just talking about it on the media.”
This initiative highlights the importance of practical action in promoting environmental sustainability. By taking proactive steps to address waste management issues, CAMASEJ Bamenda sets a commendable example for others to follow.
